When you need a person, not just software
Correction orders, licensing reviews, business operations and technology — from a team that ran a Minnesota PCA and 245D agency for 20 years.
Got a correction order? The clock is already running.
A DHS correction order spells out what the licensor found. If you believe parts are wrong, Minn. Stat. 245A.06, subd. 2 gives you 20 calendar days after receipt to ask for reconsideration in writing — and asking doesn't pause the order's requirements. Either way, you need to fix the problem and be able to show it's fixed.
- Read the order with you and separate what's accurate from what isn't
- Draft a reconsideration request with supporting documentation, when warranted
- Build the corrective action — policies, training, forms, file clean-up
- Set up tracking in Certify245D so the same finding doesn't come back
Also in this practice
- Mock licensing reviews — client files, personnel files, training records and policies checked the way a licensor would, with a written fix list
- 245D policy manuals — reviewed against current law, or built for your agency
- Client packets — rights, grievance, suspension and termination notices checked against the 2026 amendments
- DHS audit support — preparation and records assembly
The whole agency, not just the license
Compliance is one part of running a home care business. We help with the rest.
HR compliance
Hiring packets, job descriptions, employee handbook, personnel file standards and supervision practices.
Payroll setup & review
Pay practices, withholding, filings and moving your payroll into Certify245D.
MHCP billing & EVV
Billing workflows, service authorizations, EVV compliance and fixing denials at the source.
Policies & procedures
Operational policies that match what your staff actually do — and what the law requires.
Operations & growth
Workflows, staffing, intake processes and the numbers behind a sustainable agency.
Staff & manager training
In-person or online training for coordinators, managers and direct support staff.
IT for agencies that handle protected health information
Home care agencies hold sensitive client records but rarely have an IT department. We set up and secure the tools you run the business on.
- Google Workspace setup, shared drives and permissions
- Domains, professional email and mailbox management
- Device, account and password security; multi-factor sign-in
- Websites for agencies
- Moving records from paper, spreadsheets or another system into Certify245D
Security-first by default
The same approach we used to build Certify245D: least-privilege access, separation between organizations, audit trails and vendor agreements in place where health information is involved.
We are compliance and business consultants, not a law firm, and nothing on this site is legal advice. Responsibility for meeting 245D and DHS requirements stays with the license holder.
Common questions
How long do we have to request reconsideration of a correction order?
Under Minn. Stat. 245A.06, subd. 2, a written request must be made within 20 calendar days after receipt of the correction order, and the request does not pause the order's requirements.
Do you run mock licensing reviews?
Yes. We review client files, personnel files, training records and policies the way a licensor would, then give you a written list of what to fix.
